Since I was pregnant, I started reading out loud to my son, and until now that he is born. I included it in our daily routine, to read him a book at least 2-3x a day.
Did you know that reading helps build your child's vocabulary, stimulates her imagination, and improves her communication skills? In fact, the more you speak to your child from the get-go, the better it is for her growth and development.
My husband and I are more into books rather than toys. Every time we go out, we buy at least 1 book.
